What is Social Entrepreneurship?

Social entrepreneurship is becoming more and more popular these days. By definition, social entrepreneurship means an effort usually carried out by social entrepreneurs who recognizes a social problem, followed by establishing a venture or an enterprise while utilizing the principles of entrepreneurship which helps to create the way for social change. The future of social entrepreneurship is bright, thanks to smart social entrepreneurs who are playing their part for the community.

Social entrepreneurs have the responsibility of identifying social problems on a large scale, as well as finding ways to solve the problem and make a change. Social entrepreneurs are just like business entrepreneurs who find ways to create and bring changes to industries as well as seek profits, except that social entrepreneurs do not seek for profit, and their main aim is to achieve social capital by making a change, improving systems, create social value and so much more.

As aforementioned earlier, social entrepreneurship’s main aim to so generate social value compared to generating profits. Although their primary goal is to generate social value and capital, however earning profit can be secondary, and it does not need to be excluded in any program, as it is seen more of an incentive.

Social entrepreneurs who wants to launch social entrepreneurship programs should always have a sharp eye on detecting when a part of society is stuck with a problem, and they need to find ways to help get it unstuck. They should then proceed to find ways to solve the problem by applying modification to the system, as well as help spread solution which will convince members of societies to make a change.

Social entrepreneurs are often those who have high determination and unfettering vision as identifying and solving social problems is considered to be something really challenging, especially if the problem is in large scale. Ultimately, the persistence of social entrepreneurs in their social entrepreneurship efforts will help to open up path to make society more optimally functional.

The revolution that happens help to change the way society manages itself as well as approach and counter social problems. All of this can be thanked to social entrepreneurship. Today, many social entrepreneurs take their social entrepreneurship efforts through social media and the internet. With so many great ideas and innovation, the future of society definitely looks brightly lit. When an entrepreneur’s undying passion meets with a solid strategy and innovative idea, a great social entrepreneurship program is born, helping to make a change all around the world.
